You all know Alan Morse, right? The wild man Guitarist from prog rock icons “Spock’s Beard”. So, what would you expect from his solo album? Well, the old term “expect the unexpected” certainly applies here! This is a wonderful rock/jazz fusion instrumental album that ranks up there with Jeff Beck’s classic “Blow by Blow” or “Wired”. It’s also very melody oriented. With much of the material written by Alan and his brother Neal Morse, the music soars and throbs with melodic vibrancy. This is not just a shreddy guitar record, but one of taste and composition. Supporting Morse on his debut solo outing are his Beard band mates, brother Neal on keys and a line up of brilliant studio musicians as well as violinist Jerry Goodman who has performed with (amongst others) Mahavishnu Orchestra. You’re gonna love it!
